GroupWise Web Access

Introduction: GroupWise Web Access is for times when people are away from their work terminal and need access to e-mail from a remote location, ie: At a conference, at home, or when not at the University. This access can also be helpful when the Network is unstable.

  1. Go to http://www1.umn.edu/ndis/gwacc.html to access server link.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Webaccess GroupWise 5.x Server One
  3. This brings up a pop-up box. Enter your Novell ID (the one you use to login to your computer in the morning).
  4. This brings you to your GroupWise account. Enter your ID and GroupWise password. (This needs to be set up at work in order for it to function elsewhere.)
  5. There are three choices of interfaces you can use:
    1. Java
    2. Frames
    3. Text

Java is set as the default, but doesn't always work correctly. It does look and feel very similar to the version that runs in the office. The text-based first choice is a bit clunkier, but will run on all computers regardless of speed and memory.
  6. When you are finished with your mail, click exit, and you will be logged out of your email.
