Technology Inventory

Introduction: Inventory is kept on all technology items in Purchasing Services. This is helpful not only for insurance purposes, but for software/hardware tracking and upgrading. Also, in troubleshooting situations, it is helpful to have this information at your fingertips when necessary.

Follow the format of this Excel spreadsheet for best accountability.


To find the HW (Hardware/MAC) address:
  1. Go to the Start Button at the bottom of the screen
  2. Choose the Run command
  3. Type: winipcfg
  4. Choose the appropriate adapter type (usually choice two)
  5. Record the HW address

To find the IP/Network Information
  1. Go the Start Button at the bottom of the screen
  2. Choose Settings
  3. Choose Control Panel
  4. Choose Network
  5. Choose TCP/IP for Ethernet
  6. Click on Properties for more information
