Payroll - Step Increases
Introduction: Step increases are due to all Bargaining Unit employees on an yearly basis, provided this increase is covered in their latest contract. The step increase due date falls on the beginning of a new pay period immediately after the anniversary date of the employee's University employment as a regular full-time employee.
Complete the "U of M Personnel Action Worksheet" form and send it to Tonya in Controller's Organization for Peoplesoft data entry. To find out correct codes, refer HRMS data entry Reference Book.
- In-Range Increases
In-Range increases must be approved by the Controller and the VP Finance (if they are different individuals) before preparing the "U of M Personnel Action Worksheet" form, which must be sent to Tonya with a copy of approval letter. Again, to find out necessary codes, refer to the HRMS data entry reference book.
- Annual Increases
Follow the instructions described in the Pay Plan documents issued by the Human Resources Compensation Division. For questions, call your HR Consultant.
- Reclassifications (from JEQs)
Complete "U of M Personnel Action Worksheet" form and send to Tonya. To find out correct codes, refer to the HRMS data entry Reference Book.
